Character: Jill Warrick
Canon: Final Fantasy XVI - Post-Canon
Age: 30
Background Information: Jill's wiki. THIS LINK AND APP CONTAINS GAME SPOILERS AND MENTIONS OF TRIGGERING SUBJECTS SUCH AS SLAVERY, ABUSE, MURDER, AND RITUALISTIC HUMAN SACRIFICE.
Personality:
1) Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.
Upon first glance, Jill seems like any other noblewoman. She's polite, well-spoken, rarely if ever curses... basically, the kind of woman most people think of when they hear the word "lady". Holding her feelings close to her chest, Jill may appear a bit standoffish and that may be due to the fact that there is a darker side to her. For many years, Jill has harbored the trauma of being held captive by a nation who forced her to be their living warmachine. Her hands are unclean and that knowledge has led her to hold quite a bit of self-loathing and a whole lot of need for vengeance.
But in general, Jill is kind and polite to all who deserve it (and definitely not to those who don't. Looking at you, Imreann.) She's however stubborn and once she sets her mind to something, such as keeping her faith in Clive's strength and her belief that he will always come back to her no matter what. One could say Jill also has a temper to those who have wronged her, either by action or words, such how being called an ungrateful savage pissed her off so much that she didn't tremble one bit while threatening Anabella, Clive and Joshua's mother, with her rapier. Don't dehumanize her if you don't want to see her bad side because nowadays, she no longer hates herself. Over the course of the last five years, she's found a purpose to her life, where she gets to choose what she wants to do, thanks to Cid's Grand Plan. She's made a place for herself amongst the people of the Hideaway, the Bearers she and Clive come across that are in need of saving, and in general, just growing into a woman who has gained some long sought freedom, someone who is no longer a monster to herself or others, and a person knows that only she has final say in how her story ends.
Speaking of Clive, it's unmissable that she's almost always beside him. While she's her own woman, of course, she's a loyal supporter to him, through and through, both physically (is he in a fight? She's right there swinging her sword alongside him.) and emotionally as seen in how she is the one who reminds him that while he's out saving the world, he needs to save himself too. She's the hand that's always at his back, making sure that he remembers she will always be in his corner. It doesn't hurt that she's grown to have romantic feelings for him too, but Jill never pushes or even mentions them over a whole five years, aside from the couple times they got close to kissing but fate decided the timing was wrong. It seems that one of her personality quirks is that she has the patience of a saint because waiting five years for the best opportunity for love is a very long time.
2) What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?
Through her captivity, Jill maintains that she hardened her heart in order to survive the thirteen years she spent enslaved just so she would just no longer feel anything at all while doing her captors' bidding. She could have ended up suffering just as much as the rest of the enslaved, but her awakening as Shiva's Dominant was the one thing that saved her from assault and an early death. For when the beatings could no longer move her into action, the Ironborn decided that the next best thing to was to use Jill's concern for her fellow enslaved Rosarian women rather than try to have Jill selfishly think about saving her own skin.
These events and the resulting guilt have driven her to wanting to atone for all those she could not save, for those she killed in the process, especially since it means that she will be the one to stop the man most responsible for her sins. She wants the Ironblood patriarch Imreann dead because by that can she not only make amends, but she can make sure no one else suffers like she did.
With a new taste of freedom, she also willingly joins onto Cid's idea of the Hideaway, a place where Bearers, Dominants, and their supporters alike can have a place to live out the rest of their lives in peace, in whatever way they all wish, regardless of what society thinks. If anybody deserves a new chance at life, Jill is one of them. And while she has come across from Bearers who don't want to change their societal fate due to the fear of the unknown, leaving her with the frustration over why wouldn't anybody want something different than the hand dealt to them, Jill does not let this erase any empathy for them. She keeps fighting for them alongside Clive, using her rapier and magicks when needed.
3) What are their flaws as a character? What is something they've messed up, or have done that they regret?
She absolutely regrets not only taking lives on the battlefield, thinking she cut down so many people in the prime of their lives, but also not seemingly doing much of anything to save the other captives of the Ironblood when she thought she was doing her best. Imreann convinced Jill that as long as she did what they commanded her to do, that the fellow Rosarian women and children that were taken hostage along with her would be safe. This turned out to be a horrid lie and no matter what Jill did, the abuse and deaths still happened. No matter how much she tried to pretend none of this hurt her and that whatever crimes she committed were not her fault but the fault of her captors, the guilt still resided in her, growing into that self-loathing that only seemed to cease once she was reunited with Clive and given a new purpose to live.
She ends up hating herself so much to the point where she actively wishes for death, hoping that the battlefield will finally claim her and put an end to her misery. Through time, Jill grows to appreciate the notion of life and living again, but for quite a while, she questions her survival and existence both as a human and a Dominant.
4) Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
Aside from being the Dominant of Shiva, Jill seems to have quite the special relationship with Clive's hound, Torgal. Old tomes tell the tale of a frost wolf capable of casting magicks that served as the guardian to a Northern queen. While no one knows for sure, the general assumption is that this queen was also a Dominant of Shiva. While most people consider Torgal as belonging to Clive, the hound and Jill were known to be inseparable during their younger years and thus the awakened powers that Torgal seem to show are thought to have been unlocked by Jill's presence as Dominant.
Abilities & Inventory: As Dominant of the ice Eikon Shiva, Jill is capable of using ice spells both outside of semi-priming and full priming (partially transforming and fully transforming into Shiva.) This has come handy in times of creating barriers of icy mist to create a sneaky cover or build protective walls against lava (albeit temporary.) She doesn't care to fully prime into Shiva for any old reason as not only does it usually mean that people will die by her hands again, but doing so takes quite a bit out of her, leaving her physically exhausted, in pain, and furthers the progression of the petrification curse that affects magick users. To lessen any in-game damage if she finds it necessary to transform into full Shiva mode (after the necessary emotional trigger, of course), Jill will discover that not only is her larger form much much smaller, but that her spells are not as strong as before because we don't want environment destroying magicks out there all willy nilly. She might be able to make a few large ice spikes and walls, but busting out her strongest spell as Shiva, Diamond Dust, will just be a disappointment until further notice. Also if she fully primes in-game, she will still feel the effects of exhaustion and pain, just not the curse.
She is also skilled in using a rapier which will be in her inventory along with the clothes on her back.

ARMADA SELECTION
Corsair. Towards the end of the game, she voices a desire to leave the Twins, the area where the story takes place, because it now feels too small and stifling for her. She wants to spread her wings and explore the rest of the world, see things she's never had the chance to see before, enjoy experiences she otherwise wouldn't be able to if she stayed where she is now.
That said, she also seemingly has no qualms joining a gaggle of folks lead by someone with a title of "Outlaw" and if the end justify the means (aka if it takes a little violence to ensure things are set right, so be it), Jill doesn't hesitate to do what needs to be done.
